A thoroughly modern typeface with proportions from an earlier era
WHEN DESIGNING MISS MABLE, my goal was to create a contemporary typeface with variations in thick and thin strokes more common in classic type designs. I wanted to create enough weights and widths to make the typeface suitable for a wide range of uses where a soft, modern, slightly casual look was appropriate.

The original (Miss) Mable
The Miss Mable type family consists of 44 fonts (42 OpenType and web fonts, plus two variable fonts). The family encompasses seven weights across three different widths in Roman and italic versions. Each font contains a complete set of characters for Western and Central European languages. In addition, OpenType features include dynamic fractions, alternate glyphs, ligatures, plus proportional, tabular, and old-style numerals. These are high-quality standard fonts that are fully compatible with Windows, Macintosh, and Linux.
You might be asking, "Who is Miss Mable?" She was our beagle who died during the months I worked on this typeface design. Mable lived until the ripe old age of 16. She often laid by my desk as I worked and only asked for occasional belly rubs as payment for her help and encouragement. Not yet having a good name for the font, I decided that naming it after her was a perfect tribute to a loyal friend.
Variable
Miss Mable also comes in variable versions for both the uprights and italics. Miss Mable Variable can display thousands of width and weight variations.
