I'm dedicated to crafting design projects that are not only visually captivating but also functionally effective. My core belief has always been that aesthetics should serve a purpose. In other words, I strive to create designs that not only assist clients in achieving their objectives but also make a lasting and positive impression, both visually and emotionally.
A cornerstone of any successful design strategy is an understanding of client objectives. Throughout my career, I've applied this approach to resolve communication, marketing, and design challenges for various employers and freelance clients.
My journey in design and typography began at the University of Utah, where I pursued both undergraduate and graduate degrees. During my academic years, and after graduation, I gained practical experience with advertising agencies and graphic design studios. Subsequently, I embarked on a diverse career path, including roles as Design Director and Website Editor at the Utah daily newspaper, Deseret News. I've also served as Creative Director for an outdoor recreation publishing company and led communication, marketing, and creative initiatives for a state government agency and a prominent university college.
Over the years, my work has garnered recognition from organizations such as the Associated Press, the Society of Professional Journalists, and The Association for Conservation Information. My work has also appeared in publications like the Print Regional Annual and Adobe Magazine. Additionally, I've had the privilege of serving as a judge in various design and communication competitions.
